BIOGRAPHY

Fabrice Guillaud, born in Brazil and growing up in Morocco until 1982, is a child of the world with a fascination for beauty that he exploits from his tender age.

India ink, watercolor, chalk drawings, his vision of art develops around details and the meticulousness they require. He learns by spending time during his youth drawing and refining the inner world he builds.

Captivated by Al Pacino, De Niro, Scorsese and Jack Nicholson, as a young adult he became fascinated by Theater and Cinema, and pursued his artistic education by entering the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique of Grenoble and then by going to Paris to study at the Cours Florent, the Enfants Terribles and the Studio Pygmalion.

Between acting and directing short films, he began writing scripts, allowing his desire to create and his imagination to flourish in an unprecedented way.

In search of the perfection he had reached with drawing and painting, Fabrice turns to the still image and photography becomes an obvious choice.

Street photography, landscapes photography, macro photography, portraits, studio, self-taught, he learns and understands that what he was looking for is there.

He travels, New York, Rio and Sao Paulo, London and Budapest, and become imbued with what he sees and those he meets to forge his eye as a photographer.

Later, it’s by taking inspiration from Richard Avedon, Jean Baptiste Mondino, Tim Walker and Irving Penn among others that he educates his art to make his creations unique and authentic.

And it’s his fascination with singular beauty that gives his photographs that special, poetic, dark and elegant atmosphere.

Since 2 years he gives his knowledge a new breath and sees even further, bigger and more intensely his photos.

He is now based in Lyon, France.
